In the second screen, with the ubuntu like sound indicator, what application is that? I tried to install indicator-sound on my Debian Wheezy, but I failed.

This screenshot was done a very long time ago. This indicator most likely no longer work under Debian. You may try to backport it from Ubuntu, but I have no idea whether it will work the way you want it to.

In the last screen, how do you get sub-menus to have space between the main menu?

It's elementary theme "thing". I haven't made any custom settings for this (:

Nice shot but how did you minimize/maximize/close the windows ?

I'm using keyboard shortcuts. Windows are minimizing to desktop -- you can see on third shot, that there's Iceweasel icon, which is in fact minimized application (:

Definitely Xfce is going to be a kind of legacy GNOME2-clone, but still in development. Good for them. They've always made lighter GNOME equivalent.

I'm using Ubuntu 11.04, the top panel isn't removable, and apps inside can't be easily removed or placed.

Change panel from default to something else, like xfce-panel or tint. It's not a big deal, really (:

W sumie bez większych problemów, zainstalowałem jakiś pakiet z dropboksem (może nawet był to nautilus-dropbox, nie pamiętam) i dociągnąłem binarkę. Wrzuciłem dropboksa do autostartu i hula (:

Nice setup!

I also switched to Xfce 4.8, cause despite of my tries to get used to GNOME 3 it's not for me. I use Arch and after boot it uses just 90 MB from 2 GB RAM. simply amazing, cause I do not have plain and minimal Xfce desktop, but the full desktop with LibreOffice, Skype, Firefox 4, Opera, GNOME network manager, GTK3 support and all the other goodies. :)

Yes, when you have just 2 GB of RAM you have to check resource usage, he-he.
By the way, how you placed the clock in the center of the panel? :)

There are space separators between the clock and the rest of the stuff on left and right (:

I said that because xfce 4.8 does nothing more beneficial than gnome, except for those who don't know how to use gnome. :(
